Environmental & Occupational Health

Welcome!

The mission of the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health (EOH) is to advance the health of all people in the United States and around the world through research and training in environmental health. The department emphasizes the role of air, water, the home environment, and the workplace as critical determinants of health.

Educational Objectives

The EOH Department will fulfill one of the five required areas of study necessary for the accreditation of the School of Public Health by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH). In accordance with CEPH guidelines, all schools of public health must have a focus in the environmental health sciences that specifically addresses the environmental factors (biological, physical and chemical) affecting human health.
