| Chino, Michelle | back (2000) Associate Professor, Ph.D., University of New Mexico. Dr. Chino is an American Indian researcher with more than a decade of experience conducting research on health and social justice issues among vulnerable populations. She is nationally recognized for her work with American Indian communities and for her contributions at state and national levels. Dr. Chino’s research focuses on the social determinants of health, chronic disease and injury disparities, and environmental justice. Current areas of research include diabetes prevention among urban American Indians and rural Injury in Nevada. She is also the founding director of two UNLV research centers – the American Indian Research and Education Center and the Center for Health Disparities Research. |
