Dr. Cross is trained as a multidisciplinary scientist and holds advanced degrees in the biological sciences, counseling, and statistics. He works primarily as a biostatistician, where he specializes in spatial statistics, GIS applications, sampling & experimental design, and the application of novel techniques to nonstandard data sets. He has been teaching quantitative methods for over a decade, and serves as a statistical consultant/mentor for faculty and students in public health, psychology, counseling, environmental studies, mathematics, statistics, education, and the biological sciences. Additionally he works as a biostatistical consultant with several physicians, hospitals, and health professionals in Nevada. Dr. Cross will serve as the director for the Program in Epidemiology & Biostatistics, and will be the director and principal statististician for the Nevada Center for Environmental & Health Surveillance."
