Graduate Admissions


How to enroll in the Master of Public (MPH) program:

**These instructions will change on February 11, 2009. We suggest you wait until after that date to begin the application process.**

1. Go to UNLV's Graduate College website.

2. Click on Admissions link.

3. Download Application Forms Link.

4. Download and complete the entire Graduate College Application Form. The Graduate Assistantship form may be found here. (if interested)

5. Under the degree program information section of the Application Form, be sure to include the following:

Program of Study : Master of Public Health (MPH)

Area of Concentration (choose one of the following):

  • Environmental & Occupational Health (EOH)
  • Biostatistics (BIO) and Epidemiology (EPI)
  • Health Care Administration and Policy (HCAP)
  • Health Promotion (HED)
  • or leave blank if undecided

6. Submit your completed application and official copies of all transcripts to the UNLV Graduate College.

NOTE: A satisfactory score on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required for applicants whose first language is not English.

Applications and transcripts are due to the UNLV Graduate College before June 1 for Fall admission and before November 1 for Spring admission.

7. In addition to UNLV Graduate College Requirements, the MPH program requires:

a. A letter of interest in the MPH Program including contact information and your resume or CV.
b. A personal essay describing what you perceive to be a pressing public health issue, why a career in the field appeals to you, the strengths you will bring to the program, and your commitment to graduate level study.
c. Three (3) letters of recommendation.

Your letter of interest, personal essay, and letters of recommendation are due to the MPH Graduate Coordinator before June 1 for Fall admission and before November 1 for Spring admission.
