Education:
  • B.S. University of Wisconsin-Platteville
  • M.S. University of Illinois
  • Ph.D. University of Illinois

I completed post-doctoral work at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences Marine and Freshwater Biomedical Sciences Center located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Department of Preventive Medicine. My expertise in environmental toxicology and reclamation offers opportunities for students to further their knowledge in the areas of environmental transport and fate, human and wildlife health effects, endocrine disruption, and behavioral toxicology.

My currently funded research examines:

  • Adverse health effects in Native American populations after the consumption of contaminated fish.
  • The deposition, uptake and toxicity of lead from past and present hunting activities in a local wildlife management area
  • Developmental, behavioral and endocrine alterations in rodents after exposure to ammonium perchlorate and/or polychlorinated biphenyls
  • Determining fish consumption patterns and contaminant profiles in fisherpeople and sport-harvested fish in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area
  • Determining hair mercury concentrations in fish consuming Native American populations.
