World Aids Day Observance 2007 - Awards Luncheon
December 3, 2007  
The School of Public Health hosted a luncheon awards ceremony in celebration of the passage in the 2007 Nevada Legislative session of SSB 266 concerning the prevention of newborn HIV infection, for the agencies and individuals whose combined efforts were instrumental in the succesful passage of SSb 266 making Nevada the first state to enact the new CDC guidelines for the prevention of newborn HIV infection.

Dr. Mary Guinan, Founding Dean of the UNLV School of Public Health, welcomes everybody to the Awards Luncheon to celebrate the passage of SSB 266.

UNLV Executive Vice President and Provost, Dr. Neal Smatresk, welcoming everybody to the luncheon.

Dean Mary Guinan and Janice Miller, Regional Representative from Senator Harry Reid's office, presented awards and certificates for the Public Health Legislator of the Year. Mrs. Sonya Horsford accepted on behalf of her husband, Senator Steven Horsford.
